This is an update of the guidelines jointly produced by the American Medical Association (AMA) and HCFA in May, 1997.  It incorporates revisions to the gastrointestinal section of the general multi-system exam and the skin section of the single organ system exam of the skin.  These revisions were approved by the AMA and HCFA in November, 1997.
